Thoughts at dawn

Losing people is just part and parcel of life, but despite the number of times it recurs, it never becomes a "I got used to it" kinda thing. It's an excruciating experience; livid and writhing in agony, you experience a mixture of emotions, but what about walking away from someone you wish to stay with for the rest of your life?

Well, one thing I kinda realised over the years... Sometimes, it's necessary to create a little distance from certain people every now and then, as a form of reminder how much you actually mean to them.

I'm pretty sure many of us would encounter or may have already faced a situation where we care way too much for someone who has never appreciated our existence, but there's only so much we can do. The next possible step after giving your all, is to stop trying. Leave them alone. Embrace the pain and desperation, and walk away.

It's not easy at all, but that's how humans are wired. They don't realise what's there until it disappears.

What's truly yours, will still be yours eventually.

Don't care too much, don't love too much, don't trust too much, don't expect too much
Cos that "too much" could hurt you so much.

Sunsilk Pop-up Salon

Spent my previous Saturday at the Sunsilk Pop-up salon held in Bugis+. Something I long anticipated for!

Honestly, I was getting cold feet before the event cos...
1) I'm really bad with crowds.
2) I love styling my own hair, and hardly face any difficulties doing so, but it's not the case when I've to do it for someone else.

It came to my surprise that everything actually went pretty smoothly after all.

It was an interesting experience and what I was most amazed with was how meticulous these hairstylists were with each person's hair. Despite the overwhelming crowd, they all remained composed.

Getting my hair styled before I went on to style the 5 winners' hair!

Just look at how terrible the condition of my hair is... Could've easily been worse if it wasn't for the Sunsilk leave-on conditioner I've been using diligently over the past 2 weeks.

Didn't want anything too fanciful, so I decided on a simple ponytail along with some volume and curls.

Even this little girl attended the event to get her hair done. How cute.

Was a rare opportunity which allowed me to learn many new things about our hair. To name one - You can conduct a simple test on your own to find out if your hair's damaged! Run your fingers through your hair, if you feel any tangles... Your hair's most likely spoilt!

I'm really grateful as well to be able to meet some of my loveliest followers or readers, and style some of their hair. Made me really insecure about my severely damaged hair though! Out of the 5 hairs I styled, 5 of the winners had really smooth and long hair. Life is so unfair.

Really enjoyed myself! If you're feeling experimental, and wish to get a nice hair makeover... You could still be able to enjoy a free hairstyling session from now till the end of March!

Locations and dates to mark on your calendar!
20th - 23rd Feb - Jcube
13th - 16th March - Somerset 313
20th – 23rd March - Toa Payoh Hub

Do share your pictures on Instagram and hashtag #Sunsilkgoodtimes if you happen to get your hair styled! I'd love to see them. Have a great week ahead!

Hypocrisy

If there's anything I hate most, it'd definitely be hypocrisy.

I trust people too damn easily. I don't really have much control over it, I just do, and by the time I could discover what a fool I am? It's too late - The damage is done.

Have you been in this position where you think that, "Life is great." And next thing you know? The people you thought (or kinda wish) could have contributed to this statement, decide to f*ck up, making you come to your senses on how your life isn't that perfect after all.

Isn't it funny how when it involves love (romantically or not), you could easily give all that you have without second thoughts, you lie to yourself and believe in lies, do the silliest things for certain people, and cry over the people who worth the least of your tears - And often knowing that it's gonna hurt, we continue to stay, and convince ourselves that we're okay.

I'm so sick of listening to people go all like, "I'll never lie to you." Oh yeah, reminds me of how that's probably the biggest lie one could ever tell.

It can easily take up to years before one's able to gain someone's trust entirely, but it only takes a split second to destroy someone's trust in you.

We all probably already know that, but people still choose to lie.

Coming back to my point about mendacious people.

You know, I'm absolutely cool with people disliking me, or people who don't have my best interests at heart, but don't ever put up a false front and act like you do when you don't at all.

I don't get it? Why pretend to like someone when you don't?

If you're working with someone, and sorta forced to put all personal grudges aside... That, I understand. However, in this case, I'm talking about those people who deliberately get close to you, go the extra mile to make you believe that they truly care, then talk shit behind your back.

Hey, you know what? I'd love to say something to you with utmost sincerity - FUCK YOU.

I would list down every synonym in the dictionary that describes how deceitful you are, but then again, that's probably too few to prove my point.

I'm not sure if I'm more angry or disappointed, or perhaps both - To actually believe that some people actually care for me from the bottom of their heart, to think that I actually mean something to them, and to find out it's just my own wishful thinking... I feel wretched.

All you ever cared for was yourself.
