Pixs & Salon Vim Review

I finally managed to spent a complete day at home after since I ended my papers. Yay or nay?

Sometimes I doubt 6 months of hols is enough.

Guess it's a good thing cos I finally get to lay my hands on my notebook to blog, but I felt like I've wasted the whole day lying on my couch reading. So much for buying 3 books yesterday with Danial Ron, and the convo went like "You're seriously gonna spent your whole hols reading these?" "Yea...." "You're seriously the living example of what forever alone meant."

Boo hoo.

Anyway, I think I'm glad I stayed in today cos I witnessed how terrible the weather was... And I thank god I wasn't out in that shit.

Don't you hate it when you're out and the rain just has to ruin EVERYYYYTHING? It's a total mood killer. Like I literally feel as gloomy?!

Anyway, back to yesterday... Went to do some interview with certain people for my next entry. *hint hint* I'm seriously looking forward to share it with you guys bcos I haven't been writing an actual post for months.

You readers must be thinking I'm slacking... But I ain't ok! Just......... Lack of inspiration. :p (not lying.)

Anyway since my next entry would probably be some long ass post, I'd make this a picture post.

Taken over the past 3 months.

Ok, that's how long I actually haven't really updated this space. Don't even know if anyone's still reading.

 Classy bro. Wanna fight?

Right, so above were some pixs of myself before I turned into a red head.

Headed to Salon Vim a week ago to get my hair dyed, and I swear I'm overjoyed by the results.

So I spent about 15-30 minutes discussing with the hairdresser about the kinda colours I want, the shades etc.

Honestly, I was petrified out of my wits that my hair will turn into...

LOL, kidding. But I was really scared?! Bcos the furthest I went was some ugly orangey brown which, I hated. Apparently I left that terrifying impression to my BFF and she's so afraid to get her hair dyed now bcos she claims it looks like some chao ah lian. Fml.

I ended up choosing some burgundy red thing with ash brown as highlights! So the hairdresser actually had separate colours on each layer of my hair. She told me it's called the "Pikaboo highlights." Interesting.

Initially, she had to test out the colour on my hair to see if it went on. If it didn't, I had to end up bleaching it. And NO?!

I didn't have to!!!! *grins*

After 3 hours... It's done!!! Faster than I expected.

Applying some serum on my hair which smelled so heavenly. Hahaha, I could totally flip my hair a million times...

Salon Vim also offers the cocktail treatment which caters to individual needs! Probably gonna try it out during my next visit. :)

The princess moment when you've two people doing your hair...

So they were nice enough to give me these hair products to help me retain my hair colour for a longer time!

Overall, I was really pleased. The service, the quality and my hair especially! I guess I'll be red for quite some time. :p

Expectations.

Here’s a little something about me and my expectations…

It really isn't easy to deal with expectations. Friends, your lover and especially your parents'.
And it's worse being the only child in the family where all eyes and hopes are on you.

You feel the pressure every now and then, whether you’re at home or hanging out with your friends.

You feel the need to do well so you don’t disappoint anyone; your parents who put in so much effort in you and your education, your teachers who invested so much time to go that extra mile just to make sure that you understand your learning. Not forgetting... yourself.

I have really high expectations for myself, and maybe because I'm pretty much like a perfectionist, I always have to do things at my best, otherwise I won't even bother.

& I get really stressed up and frustrated easily whenever I can't carry out the tasks given to me. Like what my parents say, sometimes, I give myself that pressure more than anyone else could.

At times when I study pass my limit, I start to feel a whirl of emotions kicking in (only at the wrong time)!

Somehow, this is when I realize that I could put some constructive methods into good use. Be it studies, stress, BGR and whatnots.

Calm Down
  • Calming down always, always work! When you find yourself feeling stressed, stop doing what youre doing for a while, start breathing and calm yourself down. What Id like to do is it step away from my books, close my eyes and count to ten! ITS MAGIC!! :D

Options
  • Think of ALL the possible solutions to your problems and start listing them down.  Dont be lazy, aim for 3 solutions at least!! Your brain needs to explore more options!!

Positive Thinking
  • Tell yourself that you are able to solve the issues at hand! Give yourself a pep talk, confidence is key!

Explore Options
  • Explore ALL the possible options you have listed down, think of the PROS and CONS of each option. Draw a table! After which, select your best option and start solving your problem!

Seek Help
  • Seek help from people you trust. It can be your bestfriends, parents, teachers or counsellors.

Whenever you feel stressed, apply COPES like me and you should find your solutions easily. Otherwise, you can also take some time off from your work and take a stroll nearby or even work out (this is what I usually do!) Remember, calm down, close your eyes and count to ten. Of course, don’t forget to breathe LOL.

If you guys noticed, I actually love skating a lot. I’d skate with my friends as much as I can, and I would spend the whole day doing so; It helps me forget my worries and stress, and it really makes me enjoy my life at the moment.

I hope that the tips I've provided are applicable to you guys and hopefully you all will be able to apply it to your life too!

Sometimes when I close my eyes when facing stress and difficult situations, I let my mind wander. I’d feel different after a minute or so, because life’s too short to not cherish what we have and what we’re going through.

Every day, every minute and second is unique! Start breathing and join me here today J

How To Cope With Stress.

"The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another." - William James

Well, I know from the above title... It's kinda irrelevant to those of you who've already completed your EOY examinations, N's, PSLE or whatsoever. But who says you can only use these tips which I'm gonna share, now? Right...?

Haha, I know this is more practical for those who are taking your O's tho! So let me share with you guys how I've been dealing with my ever-so-lasting stress that's building up day by day as each paper approaches. Of course, along with the unceasing determination.

Right. So many of you have always questioned me on how I actually tackle all my school work and alongside of it, everything that I've to attend to besides school; Social media, events etc.

Firstly, I'm not gonna try to persuade you because at the end of the day, it's your call and secondly, neither am I gonna patronize you and sugarcoat my words... But It's certainly not easy at all.

However, I am gonna try my best to help! :)

Different people manage things differently and no doubt, there's an uncountable amount of ways to relieve stress but here's what I got for you...

HAHAHAHAHA, joking! Not funny? Ok. (Inserts the super sian face.)

When you find yourself feeling really stressed, apply COPES

C – Calm Down
• When you find yourself feeling stressed, stop doing your work for a while, do some deep
breathing, and calm yourself down.

O – Options
• Think of all the possible solutions to the problem you are facing and list them down.

P – Positive Thinking
• Tell yourself that you are able to solve the issue at hand. Confidence is key!

E – Explore Options
• Explore all the possible options you listed down, think of the pros and cons of each option,
select the best option, and take action to solve your problem.

S – Seek Help
• Seek help from people you trust (e.g. friends, parents, teachers, counsellors)

I bet some of you who've read up till this stage are probably thinking like "wtf... This is so damn lame?!" But hey c'mon, if it's gonna benefit you, why not?!

Plan your time and activities
Keep a daily to-do list, keep a calendar and schedule not only your to-dos but also time out for yourself, divide up the tasks that seem large or difficult into smaller sub-tasks.

Eat healthily
Eat a balanced diet consisting of a variety of foods from the different food groups, take plenty of fruits and vegetables, remember to hydrate on a regular basis!

Exercise regularly
Physical activity releases endorphins which are feel-good hormones and helps to relieve stress.

Learn to cope with expectations

• Personal Expectations
Set realistic goals. You can raise your expectations as you achieve your targets. Avoid unrealistic expectations as they can make you feel frustrated and lose confidence over time.

Ask for help from supportive people e.g. teachers, parents, friends. Mistakes are not failures learn from them and commit to do better the next time.

• Parents’ Expectations
Fix a time with your parents to talk about their expectations of you. Discuss your feelings openly, calmly, and honestly with them. Map out your own expectations and negotiate with them and tell them what help you may need from them.
